New survey reveals people click half of the phishing email links that are sent to them

A lot of security experts usually push on the importance of bringing awareness in the minds of people on phishing emails that contain links to many malicious websites.

But apparently, even spreading awareness isn’t enough when it comes to phishing scams. A recent study at the university of Germany has found that nearly half of the subjects in an experiment clicked on links that were sent from strangers into their emails or facebook accounts.

What’s even more funny is that most of these people agreed that they found it risky, but clicked it anyway.

The research had simulated a spear phishing technique that sent 1700 test subjects from fake email accounts.
